In a public bathroom with the devil?

In a public bathroom with the devil?

Tit happened a long time ago when I was 14 years aged. I hung out with a group of “outcasts.” They were called “drug addicts” at school. I didn't care because I started drinking and having fun with them and that was all that mattered then. I lived with my mother across the street from a bowling alley/bar. This is where all the smokers hung out and met. So one evening, while I was hanging out getting ready for an event somewhere, I went to the bowling alley to apply the public restroom. There were about 4 or 5 bathrooms there, I went into one and sat down (sounds weird, sorry, it's true). I heard a deep, growling voice from the booth next to me say, “I am the devil.” That's all. I was so scared that I remember being paralyzed. I didn't move for a few seconds, then I mustered up the courage to lean over to see if I could see any shoes in the stall next to me, there were women's shoes (i.e. pumps). There was nothing strange about them, but I knew what I heard and she was the only person there with me. She then walked out and left the bathroom without saying anything else. I was still too scared to look at what it was saying to me. I was shocked! After a few minutes, I slowly walked out and joined my friends outside, but I never said anything for fear of them thinking I was losing my mind.

I have carried this with me throughout my life. What do you think it was? Anyone?
