Possessed in a dream

Possessed in a dream

This is perhaps beyond the realm of the ordinary, considering it was a dream. However, I feel it has a few similarities to my story “I See You” and maybe the dead can affect dreams?

It was the night of March 23, 2007. I got off work and went to bed around 7 p.m. I'm pretty sure it was a dream where I actually wake up and hear noises, bangs and banging. The next thing I know in this dream is that I have a sense of evil and that there is something else inside me. I feel possessed by a demon. I am full of rage, malice and anger and I run down the stairs, but as I hop on my left foot, taking the steps four at a time, I feel invincible.

I have enough control to look in the mirror and see red eyes staring back at me. I pass by my mother. Stop and look at her. I go to the next room and run into my father's, and that's where the dream ends.

This dream was so bright and detailed that it was unlike anything I had ever experienced. The neighborhood was modeled on reality, it was my house and I walked around it. I have to stop and wonder if it really was a dream. Apart from the demon element, there was no other fantasy or contrived element that I experienced in any of my other dreams. Could it have been more than a dream? Can we be susceptible to evil spirits in our dreams?
