Ghost shadows on the wall

Ghost shadows on the wall

AND I desperately need answers. I hope someone can share with me their thoughts about my event. I first visited such a site because I was trying to find a similar story or perhaps some photos. Here's what happened:

A few days ago, my mom and I were talking alone in my living room. She was lying on a sofa placed against a white wall. I was sitting across from her and listening to her when I noticed a gloomy, smoky ribbon-like shadow moving across the wall from the center of the wall to the left. This happened several times until I asked my mother to come and sit next to me and look at the wall, as stupid as it sounds, she did as I advised her. We both sat next to each other and looked at the wall and I wasn't crazy, she saw that shadow moving on the wall too. Then it started moving along the entire length of the wall, and then in the opposite direction (from left to right). This happened for 2.5 hours, with the shadow changing direction, speed and shape. At times it appeared to be crescent/moon shaped. Other times it looked like a closed hand facing sideways. Another thing is that sometimes we would smell some strange, disgusting smell around us, and then the smell would just disappear. I was terrified, icy and started crying, my mother assured me that it was nothing bad and that I shouldn't be afraid. I then asked her why it wouldn't go away/stop considering how scared I was. (No, I didn't drink and I wasn't on drugs).

Are me and my mom just crazy? If anyone has a similar story or has similar information, I would appreciate hearing from you.
