AND I really don't know if this is a “ghost story” or not. Last night I experienced something really terrible that made me lose my mind.
Last night my boyfriend and I had a slow night. It was around 3:00 a.m. when we decided to go to sleep. His daughter had already gone to bed after watching a movie with us (nothing scary or disturbing). I slept in my room and he went to his. He sleeps in the bedroom between ours. I seemed to have trouble falling asleep and paced back and forth until I got up around 4:30 to apply the bathroom. I went back to bed and I think I fell asleep. Now I don't really remember anything until I woke up. I seem to remember not being able to make any sound… I tried to speak or cry… and I really had to force it out. Before I woke up, I thought I heard voices and maybe someone was in my room. I also thought my boyfriend's daughter came into my room and asked if everything was okay. But it wasn't her. It was a woman dressed in a white dress and she was surrounded by a shining glow that seemed to come from the door of my room. (the door was open) She held out her arms to me and I think she asked me to come with her. Then I saw my boyfriend in the doorway of my room. He later told me that he woke up to what he thought was a crying/wailing baby and he thought it was his daughter. He checked on her, but she was swift asleep. I sat on the bed and had to catch my breath because my heart was beating like crazy and I was very afraid for myself. My whole body felt tense and I felt nauseous due to the nerves in my stomach. I was afraid to go back to bed. My boyfriend sat with me for a while, but the guilt got the best of me and I went back to bed so he could sleep too. I had to take half a gentle sedative (which I never do) to get back to sleep. There were no more such incidents after that.
Now I must mention a few strange things that happened at the same time and around the same time. Before I first went to sleep, I thought I saw dim circles appear in the corner of my eyes about 2 or 3 times. Of course there was nothing there and I thought it was because I was getting more and more tired. Also, when I got up to go to the bathroom, my boyfriend said he heard me and said he saw a shadow looking into his room after I turned off the featherlight. He thought it was me, but I didn't go to his room at all. When I first went to sleep, I thought I heard voices and saw dim lights around my door (other than the night featherlight in the hall). I thought it was my boyfriend who couldn't sleep and went back to watching TV. He said he didn't wake up at all… he immediately fell asleep. Also, when my boyfriend got up to check on my daughter, he was outside her bedroom door and said he heard someone say in a hoarse, low voice, “over here, Frank.” He thought it was me, but it's not true. I thought I heard him talking to me and asking if I was okay, but he also said he didn't say anything. He also told me that he had 3 bad dreams involving a “witch” right after I finally went to sleep. He had this dream a few years ago, but it hadn't happened for a long time.
I don't know what any of this means. I don't usually have bad dreams and I don't really remember much of my dreams. I also didn't experience any supernatural phenomena as far as I remember. All I know is that everything felt so real… like I wasn't actually sleeping.
Am I overreacting because I'm a little scared and I think I've unintentionally scared my boyfriend and his daughter too? Any opinions will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lilly
