If all souls originate from the Source, and can reincarnate on many different planets, why are we talking about a “planet of origin”? Do souls have an affinity to a certain Star Race and reincarnate there more often than on other worlds?

Once Karma is created on a certain Planet then usually the Entity will stay there until their mission is complete there. The Karmic factor depends on many processes but usually once a certain tie (Foundation) the Entity will stay in that physical plane for quite some time. It’s very similar to like for example like – how do you feel in a unfamiliar place with different people, and now magnify that if for example if you were taken to a another Planet that your not familiar with.

While Souls do contain the God Element but they are not Unlimited to their doings – well unless they were totally GOD! Souls are as if the Mini Gods that are sent forth from the source(GOD) to find the INFO he/she needs. Once there the Karmic process has ended then the Soul moves on to other Planets of reincarnations or can basic graduate to higher realm/s of enlightment.
