Brutal ghost attack in dream

Brutal ghost attack in dream

This entire experience felt 100% real because it was happening in my head; I suppose it must have been a dream, but it was definitely the most realistic dream/nightmare I've ever had.

I, as it seemed to me, woke up from a deep sleep, with difficulty breathing, as if something had wrapped its hands around my neck, I opened my eyes and saw the person who was under my covers, sitting with his knees on my chest, strangling my throat, and his knees were holding my arms down. I couldn't see his face right away. I tried to scream for support to my wife who was working on the computer in the next room, but I couldn't mumble anything more than dull whispers because the creature's hands were wrapped around my throat.

After a few minutes of fighting this entity from my body, I finally managed to free my hand to knock on the wall and pull my wife to come over for support, at which point I was able to somewhat fight the entity from my body until my wife came in and I could see the face of the entity for the first time, it looked like the face of a blonde woman who had been drowned. My wife finally helped me get the entity off of me and as I stood up to hug her and turned around, the entity had disappeared.

I made my wife get into bed with me and we held each other close and finally as I slowly fell asleep I realized that the entity was back and that it wasn't my wife. I felt a wave of pressure from the entity on my body as it once again tried to sit on my chest, as I fought the entity I assume I passed out.

It seemed like about 5 minutes later I physically woke up, for real this time, I threw off the covers, turned on the lithe and went straight to my wife in the next room. I told her about my experience and she could see I was quite shaken up by it, I asked her things like did she hear me scream? Did she come support me? To which she didn't answer.

All I could interpret as a dream, but after reading similar stories online, I wonder if it's more like sleep paralysis syndrome? I take antihistamines before bed, but have for over 10 years and this has never happened to me before. I have had what I believe is a paranormal experience, although the previous times I was wide awake. About a month ago I had what I believe was a real spiritual “good” dream about my deceased grandfather.

Can spirits visit me in my dreams? I didn't think that was possible? This experience scared the hell out of me and I hope others have experienced something similar in the past?
