It is an account, first disclosed by Ufologist Frank Joseph and described in detail in his book from 2018, Military meetings with extraterrestrial: the real war of the worldsHe comes from an unnamed witness. The incident reportedly took place at night on October 24-25, 1989.
USS Memphis, Los Angeles nuclear submarine, was immersed at a depth of 150 meters (about 492 feet), about 150 miles from the Coast of Florida. Although the exact nature of their mission was not defined, it was simply described as a “training mission”.
Suddenly the situation brought a dramatic and disturbing turn. The crew immediately recognized the gravity and the extraordinary nature of what was developing. The submarine has successfully lost control and all communication systems died.
When the captain issued a detention order, the nuclear reactor himself began to act incorrectly. The urgent decision was made and fortunately this key control function continued to work.
The eyewitness, who later shared his story with the ufologist, rushed to his observation position to explore the outside. Apparently, he was stunned with what he saw: the night sky above the submarine shone brightly, “like a neon-red night sign”. At the same time, ponderous rain was falling.
A moment later, the witness observed a massive, in the shape of a boomerang or “V” in the shape of “V” in the sky, moving to the left of submarine. Using a transient laser, the object was determined as about 200 meters (about 656 feet) further and at least half a million length (about 800 meters or 2625 feet).
UFOs not only moved; It began to slowly circulate directly around the submarine, almost as if he deliberately watched it. At this point, all on -board electronics reportedly went crazy, making them inoperable.
The eyewitness observed a huge red reflection with synchronously with UFOs on the water. He immediately reported unidentified planes to the first officer who instructed him to keep his position and continue observation. The captain was then informed about unusual events.
Then the UFOs suddenly stopped, and the whole sky around us intensified to even deeper red. Then he shot forward at such an amazing speed that he disappeared in the distance in an instant.
As soon as the UFO disappeared, the electronics of the submarine returned to normal, and the reactor began to function again. The only irreversible damage was the communication system.
When the submarine continued its course, an eyewitness, the first colleague and two other officers were called to Wardroom. They were informed that they were the only direct witnesses of this incident and therefore could not discuss it with anyone. After the arrival of USS Memphis to the port, all witnesses were immediately removed from a submarine and placed in a single room under “observation”.
Three hours later, an American Navy officer arrived and informed them that what they really saw was “an exploding weather satellite” and nothing more. After this explanation, everyone was finally issued.
However, the case is not over. In the next few years, almost the entire Memphis crew was reportedly dispersed for unknown reasons and attributed to other submarines. No sailor has ever received a reason for their transfer, which, according to an eyewitness, is an extremely occasional and unusual violation of the standard Navy procedure.
In addition, it has been found that all the main records of this particular USS Memphis journey were thoroughly cleaned. Only unclear entries remained, which indicates that it was “on travel with other ships”, and all events of October 24 and October 25 were completely removed from other entries.
While the USS Memphis incident remains largely in the field of anecdotal evidence and Ufology, 1989 was significant for reported UFO observations around the world, including numerous mass observations in Belgium, which included immense, silent, triangular objects, reflecting the description of this account.
These Belgian “waves” of the UFO prompted the official investigation by the Belgian air force, indicating a occasional case of military force publicly recognizing and examining such phenomena.
