No they do not right away. This process relies on certain Karmic triggers that exist just before death. Let’s say for example that just before death your thinking that how much you loved your wife then depending on how much Emotional energy there is can determine your proximity to this person in the next life. This is an over simplistic answer because this depends of what life experiences are still needed with this person or that particular family unit. I have known entities to reincarnate only as little as 3 months after their death but usually they stay in the Nuetral Zone for 3–5 years which is nothing.
