Grandpa's spirit saved the day

Grandpa's spirit saved the day

Tthis is the first time I've sat down and written about my experiences, and I tend to talk about it, so I apologize in advance.

Let me start by saying that I am a person who believes in ghosts and I have believed in it since I was a child, even though my parents advised me against it as a child.

My first experience I remember was when I was about 7 years aged. I was in the yard, playing on the swing, my sister and brother were elsewhere, my mother was at home. I happily leaned back as I heard a very stern, almost gruff sounding older woman call my name. I looked up and continued to sway when I heard it again, this time the voice sounded almost mad. I jumped off the swing and went inside to see if my mom had called me. She looked at me like I was crazy, told me everything was fine and that I could play again. But I wouldn't go back to the yard and I wouldn't let my younger siblings go back there.

About an hour later, my (male) neighbor called my parents and told them that there was a copperhead snake slithering around the swing and had settled under the shed (which was right behind the swing). Dad called the exterminator and when he looked, he gasped and said there was a whole nest of eggs. My mother then asked me why I had come and asked why she had called my name so sharply an hour earlier. I told her I didn't think it was her because the voice sounded older, like a grandmother's voice. She then said, “Well, it looks like you have an angel watching over you.”

After this event, I seemed to always have very bright, bright dreams and heard this woman's voice every time it seemed like danger was near.

Fast forward to about 12 years aged, when I was 19 years aged. I lived in an older house with a roommate. The house belonged to her grandmother, who was in a nursing home due to advanced Alzheimer's. The room I had was her grandmother's aged room. When I moved in, I noticed an unusual calmness in the room. About a month later, I was talking to my roommate and found out that her grandfather had stuck himself in this room (actually in this bed I was using). It scared me a little, but the calmness of the room calmed my fears.

About another month went by when I started having really weird dreams again, but nothing that I could put my finger on. One evening I went to bed quite tardy and fell asleep quite quickly. That night I had a very realistic dream. I went fishing (I've never fished) with my younger sister. She fell into the water and took in a lot of water. I immediately took her to the ER, where the doctor told me to monitor her because she might develop a lung infection and to call 911 if anything happened to her. After returning from the hospital, my sister began to have breathing problems. And then I woke up, wide awake (weird for me). As soon as I woke up, I called my boyfriend (in the days of pagers) and started wondering if something had happened to my sister. I was about to call and make sure everything was okay when I heard sirens. Thought I must have called 911 in my sleep (I acted out my dreams as a child), I called my boyfriend again. As the sirens got closer, I tried to come up with a logical explanation for the police. I looked out the window and saw that the street was full of police cars, fire trucks and ambulances. Filled with fear, I watched the paramedic approach my neighbor's house.

I was confused, I watched for an hour and then I saw my neighbor being taken away on a stretcher. I worked for the police and they filed all the 911 reports, so I took the case. The report said that at 2:53 a.m., an unknown woman called about a neighbor who needed immediate medical attention, gave her address and hung up. I went and talked to the neighbor's wife and asked what happened. She was at a family member's house that evening when someone called and said she needed support. He had a heart attack, fell and couldn't make a call. After leaving the hospital, I asked him if everything was okay. He smiled at me and said thank you. I asked him what he meant. He said that when he fell he was screaming for support, his aged neighbor (my roommate's grandfather) came to him and said everything will be fine and I will get you for support). He said he watched his aged friend walk from his house to my room (overlooking his living room) and the next thing he knew support was on the way.

Now I don't know if I just noticed something or if he knew that I was more sensitive to what was happening and acting on my dreams. If that was the case, why would the dream be about my sister (who is fine, nothing is wrong with her) unless he knew that would be the most effective way to reach me.

Anyway, my aged neighbor lived for many more years and thanked me almost every day for saving his life.

This is just one of my stories. I will try to put the rest together and postpone them for later.
