Our world is part of parallel quantum universes

Quantum entanglement and superposition may seem like strange phenomena, but they ultimately create a stable reality like ours.

Everything we see around us, all objects and phenomena, and of course people, are part of the classical world. This world is governed by the laws of classical physics.

But quantum mechanics allows us to see the peculiarities of a miniature world in which atoms and subatomic particles play the main role. This world is called quantum, and it is home to seemingly very strange things that sometimes defy classical physics.

For example, in the classical world, water can only be in one of three states at a time: liquid, solid, and gas. It cannot be in two states at the same time. However, in the quantum world, a particle can exist in several states at the same time due to a phenomenon called superposition.

Many other phenomena make the quantum and classical worlds completely different. Although up-to-date modeling shows that the classical world arises from a huge number of parallel quantum universes.

Physicists believe that the creation of our world does not require special conditions, it is natural and inevitable. The study was published in the journal Physical Review X journal.

According to the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, each time a quantum measurement occurs, the universe splits into different parts, each of which creates a parallel world with its own particular reality.

Physicists suggest that our classical world is one such stable part. In these diverse realities, the familiar classical experience is not only possible, but is an inevitable consequence of the behavior of quantum systems at the macro level.

The physicists' conclusions are confirmed by modeling of various quantum systems, in which the authors of the study analyzed the evolution of these systems at 50,000 different energy levels. Modeling has shown that huge, stable regions can form in the Universe.

When physicists changed the energy levels, bond strengths, and other initial conditions of quantum systems, they still resulted in similar parts of the universe.

Therefore, physicists have concluded that the creation of a classical system from quantum events, satisfying the laws of classical physics, is a natural and inevitable process.

According to the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, each time a quantum measurement occurs, the universe splits into different parts, each of which creates a parallel world with its own particular reality.

This is not the first study to link the classical and quantum worlds using the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics.

Previously, physicists have tried to connect these two worlds by focusing on quantum decoherence – a phenomenon that suggests that quantum systems lose their strangeness, such as entanglement and superposition, when measured at the macro level.

However, the results of these studies were based on certain conditions and assumptions. A up-to-date study shows that classical systems must arise from quantum events without any fine-tuning.

Physicists believe that although quantum events appear cluttered and produce many outcomes, they can produce a set of properties that remain consistent and stable. Therefore, scientists believe that our classical world actually emerges naturally from the quantum world.
