ANDIt's humorous when certain events happen in our lives and we blame it all on bad luck. The funniest things are the things we do to counteract the flow of bad energy that causes so-called bad luck or bad events. At least I thought it was humorous at the time until my friend shared her incredible experience.

jeepney This story is about my friend and her scary jeepney ride home. For those of you who don't know what jeepneys are, they are a popular form of public transportation in the Philippines. They were originally made from American military jeeps left over from World War II and are well known for their extravagant decorations and crowded seating areas.

My friend came home behind schedule after finishing her school project, now since she lives near the UP Diliman (University of the Philippines) campus, it was perfectly unthreatening for her to return home behind schedule hours by jeepney instead of taxi. It was around midnight when she drove home and she couldn't aid but notice the driver looking at her through the rearview mirror and then turning back to her. (Now all jeepneys have their own route and do not turn and have to stick to their route or there is a high risk of getting into trouble with the police). What was strange about this jeepney ride, apart from the amazing looks the driver gave from time to time, he also went around corners that he shouldn't have. She was afraid of the drivers' plans, and she was even more afraid of her surroundings, because it seemed that she was already in the middle of nowhere. Instead of going downstairs, she just stayed in the jeep. On the last turn the driver made, she noticed that they were back on the route they were originally supposed to take.

Before reaching the end of the terminal, the driver turned to my friend and said, “I'm sorry if I startled or scared you! “That wasn't my intention.” “Could you do me a favor and BURN all your clothes when you get home.” I wonder why my friend asked why he was acting very strange. The driver explained, “The reason I kept looking was because when I looked in the rearview mirror, your head wasn't attached to your body.” “That's why I changed the route a while ago, hoping that we could get away from the bad energy present in this area, and that's why I want you to burn your clothes when you get home, because I think it's still with you.”

Back home, still shaking with fear, my friend took off all her clothes and burned them as quickly as she could. A few days later, she learned on the news that the jeepney driver had died a day after the incident. It turned out that the warning was not for her, but for the driver.
