When people have experienced some phenomena during their life cycle then yes you will most like know you are dead. There are many variables to this questions so it may depend on the Soul of the individual (how advanced they are)and also what type of life experiences they had through out their life and whether someone might get them after carbon body has terminated its life cycle.
Before you were born and left your zone (Heaven) you could have setup something make you remember. Most souls will remember that they existed before they were born but not souls are advanced and regardless what people says – not all souls were created the same. Earth is a school so it takes usually hundreds or thousands of incarnation cycles to have a greater knowledge of spirituality.
If a person that was so intertwined with the materialistic cycle here on earth – then this entity can have a harder time remembering whom they were and what happened when they died…there heaven world is mostly comprised of resemblance of the physical, like for example having buildings and cities even. When the frequency of learning changes so will also this heaven change for them and they will not require any more of the same physical resemblance like on earth.
