For a long time, scientists thought that space and time were completely separate things. In the nineteenth century, physicists imagined space as a 3D stage – just like the length, width and height of the room – and time was like a ticking clock, self -moving forward.
But then Albert Einstein appeared and said: “No, space and time are part of one great thing called space.” He described the cosmic time as a 4D fabric, which combines three dimensions of space (length, width, height) over time as a fourth dimension. This idea has been the basis of contemporary physics for over 100 years.

Imagine you play a game in which you follow the ball over time. Observing how the ball moves, you suddenly realize that its path looks like a map of your neighborhood. This is similar to what scientists discovered: QUBIT changes in time seemed to create a 3D space map.
Scientists believe that this discovery suggests that space and time may not be as connected as we thought. They believe that the geometry of space (the 3D world we see) can actually come from the time. In other words, time can be the main ingredient, and the space can simply be the result of time.
Think about time as a film reel. Each cage of the film is a moment, and with playing the reel you can see history. Scientists say that the “history” of 3D space can be hidden in the way these time frames play.
How is this challenge Einstein's ideas?
The theory of Einstein's special theory of relativity says that space and time are woven together in 4D material in space. For example, if you travel really quickly (close to lightweight speed), time slows down for you compared to someone standing in place.
This shows how space and time are connected. But if the space and time are separate, as the novel study suggests, it would break some of the principles of Einstein's theory. That is why this idea is so controversial among scientists.
The authors of the study say that their idea requires more tests. They suggest conducting experiments with ultra -ld quantum objects or cubits in quantum computers to see if they behave in the same way.
However, not everyone agrees with their findings. Some critics say that the study does not explain how space can come from time to time – it simply shows the mathematical similarity.
Scientists also wonder if time space is a convenient way to describe the universe, but not a real truth.
