After a brutal clash between two factions of officers at the railway station, a CRF officer was beaten to death before they reached Chittoor railway station. It is said that since that fateful day, the station has been haunted by a ghost seeking justice for his death.

Along the coast of Andhra Pradesh is the Chittoor railway station, a 3-platform station that was the subject of local gossip. The station on the Gudur-Katpadi branch is said to be one of the most haunted stations in India.

Legend has it that the ghost of a Central Reserve Police Javan named Hari Singh from Jharkhand roams the abandoned corridors of Chittoor Railway Station.

The Spirit of Hari Singh's CRF

According to local lore, on that fateful day of October 31, 2013, Singh was on a train connecting New Delhi-Kerala when he was attacked by Railway Protection Force personnel and a few travel ticket inspectors.

It was not specified exactly why this happened, but there have been previous situations where the two forces ended in an argument or fight on a train, often over unpaid tickets. Although in most sources there was no mention of the reason for this event.

When the train arrived at Chittoor station, Singh was seriously injured after a fight. He was rushed to a hospital in Chennai but died of his injuries ten days later.

It is said that since that tragic day, the ghost of Hari Singh has been haunting the premises of Chittoor Railway Station, forever wandering in search of the justice that eluded him in life. Locals speak of his ghostly apparition, his presence could be felt in the eerie silence that descends on the station after gloomy.

According to a chilling report by Indian in 2015, residents of Chittoor reported feeling the icy touch of Singh's ghostly presence. This is also the earliest source found for this event, although it does not refer to other sources and if we are to believe this story, we must also believe that the death never made the news.
