One day, while hunting deer, he stopped at a small lake which he named Grouse Lake due to a black grouse he had once seen there. A big group of local natives stopped on the alternative side of the lake to attract water, also while hunting deer.
It was then that Clark heard a cry that he thought seemed like a petulant puppy, and he approached the natives and asked if a few of them were missing a puppy. He stayed with them that night and was told it was something completely different.
The sound of the dog crying was actually the scream of an Indian boy who drowned within the lake a few years ago and shouldn’t be approached as a result of the danger he posed to those whom the spirit managed to lure into the lake. water.
The boy's ghost all the time called for help from them, but nobody had the courage. According to legend, the ghost of the crying boy grabbed those that tried to assist by the legs and dragged them underwater to drown.
