MUFON is the largest UFO organization in the United States and the world. It consists of about 700 enthusiastic researchers who have been collecting and analyzing UFO and suspected alien sightings since the 1960s. Its archives contain about 137,000 eyewitness reports.
In January 2024, a video was posted online showing an unusual jellyfish-shaped UFO flying over a US military base in Iraq.
Initially skeptical ufologists from MUFON quickly discovered that jellyfish-like UFOs are not a modern phenomenon, as their archives are full of similar sightings.
The footage, released this week by journalist Jeremy Corbell, was likely filmed in 2018 by the U.S. military and, according to Corbell, the object seen in the footage has been officially designated a UAP (unknown aerial phenomenon) by the Pentagon.
So far, the Pentagon has not taken a public position or issued an official statement regarding the recording.
These objects resemble an oval body with hanging tentacles or threads, hence the name “jellyfish”, although they are sometimes called “squid”.
What is especially disturbing is that these flying jellyfish not only watch us from above, but sometimes “hunt” people and are even said to “suck” the life energy out of them.
Previously, jellyfish UFOs were frequently seen in Denmark. According to ufologist Bob Spearing, the MUFON archive contains many drawings and photographs of Danish jellyfish UFOs from the 1970s.
Small UFO jellyfish can even fly into people’s homes. In one case in Singapore, several UFO jellyfish with tentacles that shimmered in different colors flew into a woman’s bedroom while she was sleeping.
“She noticed strange squid-like objects with bioluminescent tentacles in the corner of the room. One of these creatures, whatever it was, attached itself to her back, causing her pain and waking her up.” says Bob Spearing, founder and artistic director of Bob Spearing.
“The creature was intelligent because it immediately jumped away. The woman felt that it was genuinely disturbed, as if she had a telepathic connection with it.”
According to the woman, the “squid” seemed to be trying to suck the life force out of her.
Other reports include sightings of jellyfish-like UFOs in Vancouver in 2016 and 2024, and two more sightings in Iran.
“In Iran, the eyewitness was a 45-year-old married woman with two sons. She first heard a strange sound and felt something following her. A few nights later, she woke up feeling pressure in her chest.
“She said out deafening, 'What happened?' and saw what looked like a square jellyfish with many tiny legs. It was half blue, half red and looked very much like a real sea creature. The jellyfish floated above her before landing on the floor.
“The jellyfish disappeared after a few minutes. The next day, the woman noticed a scar several inches long on her stomach. It itched and burned, as if from the inside. The woman was very worried.”

A 1954 incident in which a jellyfish-like object flew closely behind a BOAC Stratocruiser at 19,000 feet over Goose Bay, Canada, added to the list of similar sightings, indicating that the phenomenon is not constrained to current times or to specific regions.
The theory that some UFOs may be biological entities, possibly from another dimension, is not modern.
Jacques Vallée, a renowned computer scientist and ufologist, has theorized that UFOs and related phenomena may be manifestations of beings from other dimensions.
These entities, according to Vallée, do not necessarily have to be extraterrestrial, but may belong to a reality that operates according to other laws of physics. This hypothesis suggests that the phenomenon of extraterrestrial visitors may come not from our physical reality or outer space, but from alternate realities or parallel universes.
Similarly, Dr. Allen Hynek, in the later years of his life, expressed skepticism about the classic view that UFOs were spaceships from other worlds.
He argued that UFO-related behaviors—such as stopping cars, taking soil samples, and scaring people—seemed illogical for a technologically advanced race. Hynek proposed that UFOs could come from other dimensions or parallel realities existing at different frequencies than ours.
