Barranco de Badajoz is a gorge located south of Tenerife in the Canary Islands in Spain, near Güimar. It is only accessible by car via a road leading to the volcano. However, it is the stories surrounding the glowing people that really capture the imagination.

It was in these ravines that we found the mummies of the Guanches, the indigenous inhabitants of Tenerife.

Numerous legends come from this place, where angelic beings, UFOs, satanic rituals, and other paranormal phenomena live. But no stranger story is the tale of glowing people found in one of the mines in the gorge.

Glowing People in the Gorge: Legends and Encounters

One of the mysterious legends of Barranco de Badajoz tells of strange lights and radiant beings that, according to people's stories, could be seen in the gorge, especially in the mines in the cave known as Cueva del Cañizo.

These beings are said to wear white clothing and have an unearthly glow that captivates all who look upon them. Witnesses describe them as still observers, intently observing, making no discernible movements. Some even claim to have spoken with these ethereal creatures, forever changing their perception of reality.

The Missing Girl with the Pears in the Mines of Barranco de Badajoz

The most mysterious story is that of a 15-year-old girl who disappeared while playing in a ravine looking for pears. This supposedly happened in the 1890s. They searched for her in all the ravines, but she was nowhere to be found.

For 30 years, her disappearance remained a disturbing mystery until she resurfaced and returned home, knocking on her parents' door, not a day older than the day she disappeared. When questioned about her whereabouts, she told a terrifying story of an encounter with glowing people. She had apparently fallen asleep at the foot of a pear tree and was awakened by a elevated being dressed in white.

She claimed they took her to a cave where she claimed there was a huge garden full of these beings, where they spoke to her for a brief while before she returned home. To her surprise, she discovered that three decades had passed in those fleeting moments.

Parallel Dimensions: A Gateway to the Unknown

What could be going on in the gorge and its mysterious caves? The strange stories and legends surrounding Barranco de Badajoz have led many to believe that the cave acts as a gateway to a parallel dimension or world from which these enigmatic beings originate. The concept of parallel dimensions has long fascinated humanity, and the experiences shared by witnesses near the gorge only fuel these speculative theories.

In 1912, workers in the deeper mines came across a landslide near the gorge at sunset. Intrigued, they began digging and unearthed a ladder that seemed to emerge from the deepest depths of the cave. Curiosity got the better of them, they went down and saw two radiant beings dressed in white. The beings watched them closely, not moving or saying a word. Filled with fear, the workers fled and reported the encounter to the Civil Guard. However, upon returning to the place where they had seen the creatures, there was no trace of them.

We have no documents from the Civil Guard to confirm this story, but the mine galleries were abandoned when the walls collapsed in a landslide and filled with water.

The Mystery of Modern Times: The Legacy of Shining People

Today, the Barranco de Badajoz has become a popular hiking area, attracting adventurers from far and wide. Yet even in current times, reports of strange phenomena continue to emerge from those who venture near the gorge. From unexplainable lights dancing in the darkness to the overwhelming feeling of being watched, the allure of the glowing men endures. These encounters leave witnesses in a state of awe and intrigue, forever questioning the boundaries of our reality.
