Over the course of 19 years, people claimed to have seen a strange phenomenon on a stretch of road from Seville to Moron de la Frontera in Andalusia. It was built to connect the cities of Arahal, Utrera, Montellano and the Moron Air Base. They say that strange things happen here in the middle of the night.

The ghost of children crossing the street

Drivers along the road saw lines of children wearing what appeared to be school uniforms as they crossed the road, holding hands, before suddenly disappearing.
It was told by four adolescent people in a car when one night 20 years ago a man jumped out of a ditch and stopped traffic in the middle of the night, standing in the middle of the road to let the pride of children pass.

It is unclear whether there was a specific accident involving adolescent school children who ended their lives in a car crash. However, the legend of ghost children crossing the road has been told for years and has become established as part of road lore.
It was said that there was a village school here long ago, but no one really knows what happened to it.
Shining woman in the middle of the road
Another ghost legend told about this place is what appears to be the ghost of a woman. It is said that it appears in the middle of the road and shines so brightly that at first they think it is some kind of traffic signal.
Pedro Luque and his wife saw one of the witnesses of this strange thing while they were driving along this road. It was obscure and wintry, and when they approached what they thought was a traffic lightweight, they realized it was a woman.
He described her as being at least 50 years venerable, elevated and gaunt, with a solemn expression on her face, as if she was afraid.
They didn't stop for her, but when they passed her on the road and looked in the rearview mirror, she was gone.
It's likely this is some classic missing hitchhiker story, but it could also pass as one of the weirder rumors circulating about this road.

A fair point about the strange things happening in these parts was attributed to the proximity of the military base, especially since it is close to the secret Spanish Air Force base at Moron.
