Chudail Baudi is located on the Shimla Highway between Chota Shimla and Navbahar, enveloped by lush green forests and picturesque natural splendor. This particular stretch of road near the watering hole is known for a high number of accidents, according to local stories.

The watering hole found in the forest is also known as Witch's Well. The term “Baudi” means well, and according to local legends, the well at Chudail Baudi was dug during the British colonial period. However, this well contains more than just water – it conceals a terrifying curse, believed to be the work of a vengeful spirit.

Local folklore tells a haunting story of a woman who met a tragic fate many years ago, and her spirit, who still lingers there, is said to haunt her. She is often described as an Englishwoman with long black hair and a white sari. Many say she asks passing cars for a lift, or simply stares at you from the backseat of your car if you refuse.

According to legend, the woman was wrongly accused of adultery, a crime that prompted her husband to inflict a cruel punishment on her—he buried her alive near this well. It is believed that her restless spirit haunts Chudail Baudi, constantly seeking revenge on those who cross her path.

In the area around Chudail Baudi, many people have reported having eerie experiences bordering on the paranormal, especially on the roads in the area. It is said that cars in this area automatically tardy down, no matter how challenging you try to accelerate.
